Statistics on the Oxford County Real Estate Market

REALTORS® CARE FOOD DRIVE IS A SUCCESS

Woodstock, Ont. – On May 2nd, the Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Real Estate Board hosted their 8 th Annual REALTORS® Care Food Drive in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Sweaburg for their respective Salvation Army food banks. There was a total of 115 volunteers plus their families for both events of which 80 were local REALTORS® covering approximately 90 per cent of routes in both towns. “I am very proud of our members and the support they give to this amazing event, which continues to be a great success every year. We want our communities to know that your local REALTORS® are not just real estate representatives, but friends and neighbours who care about our communities,” commented WIDREB President, William Cattle. “I would also like to take the time to personally thank our REALTORS® Care Committee for all their hard work and dedication that they put towards creating such a successful and well received event every year.” Current estimates in the amount of food received from scheduled collection are 7,000 pounds of food in Ingersoll and 22,000 pounds of food in Woodstock, totaling 29,000 pounds of food collected.

That is 10,500 more than last year! That is over the top! “The generosity from our communities is amazing and it is expected that the food raised will help keep our local food bank’s shelves stocked up until Christmas. It has been 8 years since the inception of the REALTORS® Care Food Drive and it is estimated that over of 137,500 pounds of food has been collected at this event for our local food banks,” commented President Cattle. The Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Real Estate Board would like to take the time to thank all of the volunteers who helped make this event great, without your help and dedication we would never reach the level of success that was accomplished. In addition, special thanks go out to our sponsors, Home Hardware Building Center in Woodstock and Foodland in Ingersoll who donated countless bags for this event. “Our sponsors came on board Five years ago and their bag donations have made all the difference for our food drive and we hope to continue this partnership for our future food drives”. Happy Long Weekend enjoy the Victoria Day Parade in Woodstock on Monday May 21st, 2018

The Parade will leave the fairgrounds at 10:00 a.m. sharp and head west down Dundas Street to Wellington Street where it turns left and heads south over the railway overpass to Henry Street. From Henry Street the parade will turn left onto Finkle Street and into Southside Park just over the creek by the cricket pitches.

The parade will feature over a dozen marching bands, stilt walkers, floats, vintage cars, walkers, clowns, Shriners and more. If you or your group wish to participate in the parade it is FREE!
